In the wise opinion of former CIA officer Bryan Dean Wright, Rep. Swalwell and Rep. Schiff rightly shouldn’t be sitting on the Intel Committee. Since the 1970s, the Intel Committee was designed to bring much needed oversight to a rampant intelligence community. Rep. Swalwell’s past relationship with a certain Chinese spy posed a serious security risk in the House. Rep. Schiff’s infringement, however, appears to be a growing theme of politicians and bureaucrats setting their sights on the American people as opposed to foreign enemies abroad.
