Fear makes people do irrational things. When people are scared, they do things that they never would have even dreamed of doing. Hence the fear-mongering amongst the COVID-19 pandemic. Australians killing dogs due to COVID-19 restrictions, requiring two-year olds to wear masks, doctors refusing to treat unvaccinated patients, taking children away from in-person learning; These examples all stem from a place of fear. Mike Slater shares his perspective on how fear makes people to irrational things and leads people to do the unthinkable, and how this all ties in to why we can’t trust our experts.
