By The FirstWhite House spokesperson John Kirby defended the Pentagon’s new policy of providing travel expenses for out-of-state abortions Monday, calling the procedure a “foundational sacred obligation.”
“The military is going to take care of you, no matter who you are or who you love. Our policy, whether it’s diversion and inclusion, or transgender individuals, or whether it’s about female service members being able to count on the reproductive care that they need to serve… That is a foundational sacred obligation.”
