Tennessee State Rep. Justin Jones, one of the so-called “Tennessee Three” that were punished for their involvement in an occupation of the Tennessee Capitol, was reinstated to his seat earlier this week. Although Jones is being hailed as a hero, video has re-emerged showing an incident during the 2020 George Floyd riots for which Jones was indicted.
Watch the video below:
In the video, Jones, who’s wearing a beige hat, can be seen throwing a parking cone into the drivers side of a moving vehicle that he and fellow protesters had obstructed. Jones was later charged with two counts of reckless endangerment.
For his part, Jones has said the driver was yelling slurs during the altercation. The charges were ultimately be dropped.
However, this wasn’t the only time Jones ran afoul of Tennessee law. According to the Tennessean, Jones faced more than 15 charges between June and August 2020:
They include misdemeanor assault and assault of an officer, as well as resisting arrest, disrupting a meeting, disorderly conduct, criminal trespassing, obstruction of a passageway and aggravated littering.
