Rep. Dan Bishop of North Carolina blasted Democrat Rep. Cori Bush–a member of the notorious “squad”–for a tweet she published candidate for Speaker of the House Rep. Byron Donalds earlier this week. During his nominating speech for Donalds, Bishop calling Bush’s comments “grotesquely racist rhetoric.”

“He ain’t no prop,” Bishop told the packed house chamber. “This is the tired, old, grotesquely racist rhetoric that we’ve seen far too long!”
Squad-member Cori Bush unloaded on Republican Byron Donalds earlier this week, accusing the African American candidate for Speaker of the House of “perpetuating white supremacy.”
“Byron Donalds is not a historic candidate for Speaker. He is a prop. Despite being Black, he supports a policy agenda intent on upholding and perpetuating white supremacy. His name being in the mix is not progress—it’s pathetic,” posted Bush on Twitter.
