By The FirstThe Upper Moreland School District in Suburban Pennsylvania is giving us a good look at the state of American education, with one school board member refusing to cast a vote for “the only cis white male” on the board to serve as president.
The comments were made by School Board Treasurer Jennifer Solot, who also added that the “cis white male” in question, Greg D’Elia, would make an “excellent president.”
“I believe that Mr. D’Elia would make an excellent president,” said Solot. “However, I feel that electing the only cis, white male president of this district sends the wrong message to our community — a message that is contrary to what we as a board have been trying to accomplish.”
