By The FirstWhite House Press Secretary Jen Psaki continued to dodge questions surrounding April’s disastrous jobs report; refusing to acknowledge why millions won’t return to the workforce while enjoying generous unemployment benefits during the pandemic.
“We know there have been a lot of talking points and chatter out there suggesting that reducing benefits […] to people across the country would incentivize them to go back to work and frankly we find that to be a bit off track.”
“What we’ve seen is that the actual issues at play here are the pandemic. People needing to address things like child care. States and Governors are going to make their own decisions,” she added.
