Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot blamed her 2023 Election Defeat this week on racism and gender, completely ignoring the fact she won in a landslide just four years ago.
In 2019, Lightfoot won the First Round with 17.5% of the vote, then the general election run-off with 73% of the vote.
“I’m a black woman in America. Of course,” she said when asked if she was treated differently by the media and Chicago voters.
“Regardless of tonight’s outcome, we fought the right fights and we put this city on a better path,” Lightfoot added.
