By The FirstDoctor Anthony Fauci warned Americans the country could see a new wave of the COVID-19 virus within weeks if people “declare victory prematurely.”
“It’s almost a race between getting people vaccinated and this surge that seems to want to increase,” Fauci said.
“Hang in there a bit longer,” he added. “Now is not the time, as I’ve said so many times, to declare victory prematurely.”
Roughly one third of the entire US population has received at least one dose of the vaccine and approximately 20% are fully inoculated from the disease.
As a result of rollout plans, new infections are being seen in younger populations and children who are ineligible to receive the medication.
