A recent poll by the Wall Street Journal shows former President Trump is falling behind President Biden in a potential matchups for the 2024 presidential election. According to the poll, President Joe Biden would narrowly defeat former President Donald Trump by a margin of 48% to 45% in a head-to-head matchup.
However, the poll also found that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis could potentially defeat President Biden in a hypothetical presidential race, with DeSantis leading 48% to Biden’s 45%.
Interestingly, the poll also revealed that a majority of voters hold unfavorable views of both Biden and Trump. In fact, 57% of voters view each of them unfavorably.
On the Republican side, the poll found that Donald Trump is still the leading candidate in the GOP presidential primary field. If the primary were held today, 48% of Republican voters say they would vote for Trump, while only 24% would vote for his closest rival, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
The poll was conducted between April 11th and 17th and included 1,740 registered voters.
