Even far-left California Governor Gavin Newsom is sounding alarm bells on the coming expiration of Title 42 and the consequences it’s going to have at America’s border with Mexico.
The Trump-era Title 42 policy was first imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic, and allows federal authorities to swiftly expel migrants at US land borders. The policy is set to expire on December 21, which is expected to precipitate a tidal wave of illegal immigrants in the coming days.
“The fact is, what we’ve got right now is not working and is about to break in a post-42 world unless we take some responsibility and ownership,” Newsom said in an interview with ABC News. “I’m saying that as a father. I’m saying that as someone that feels responsible for being part of the solution and I’m trying to do my best here.”
“We’re already at capacity at nine of our sites,” Newsom added. “We can’t continue to fund all of these sites because of the budgetary pressures now being placed on this state and the offsetting issues that I have to address.… The reality is, unless we’re doing what we’re doing, people will end up on the streets.”
The Biden administration is expecting the situation at the border to deteriorate in the coming weeks. According to Axios, the White House is preparing for the possibility of 14,000 migrant crossings per day, as Title 42 officially comes to an end.
When arguably the most far left Governor in the U.S. Gavin Newsom is sounding the alarm on the border, you know there’s a problem. However, as Bill O’Reilly correctly notes, the media is still essentially BLACKING OUT coverage of the border crisis.
