According to a new Suffolk University/USA Today poll, Florida’s GOP leadership may have nothing to worry about come midterms: Governor Ron DeSantis and Senator Marco Rubio are both polling better than their Democratic challengers.
“The poll, conducted January 26 to 29 among 500 likely voters, found DeSantis leading Rep. Charlie Crist (D-FL) by six points, 49 percent to 43 percent. Eight percent of respondents said they were undecided on whom they would choose,” Breitbart reports.
DeSantis is also polling better than gubernatorial candidate Nikki Fried by 11 points.
Senator Marco Rubio is set to face off with Rep. Val Demings (D-FL). Demings is a former Orlando police chief with some serious fund-raising chops. But, according to Breitbart, “despite Demings’ eye-popping fundraising numbers, the Suffolk poll found Rubio with an eight-point lead: 49 percent to 41 percent. Ten percent of respondents said they were undecided on that race.”
