Radical Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez accused a United States Marine of “murder” on the subway Wednesday after the service member took-down a mentally disturbed homeless person using a chokehold.
“Jordan Neely was murdered. But bc Jordan was houseless and crying for food in a time when the city is raising rents and stripping services to militarize itself while many in power demonize the poor, the murderer gets protected w/ passive headlines + no charges. It’s disgusting,” posted AOC on Twitter.
“I don’t think that’s very responsible at the time where we are still investigating the situation,” Mayor Adams said on “CNN Primetime” Wednesday night.
According to the NYPD, the victim was previously arrested more than 40 times, including assault.
Rep. Ayanna Pressley called the incident a “lynching.”
