Sitting-Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib exploded on social media Thursday; bizarrely claiming she doesn’t have “freedom of speech” or “benefit of the doubt” in America because she’s a Muslim in Congress.
“Freedom of speech doesn’t exist for Muslim women in Congress. The benefit of the doubt doesn’t exist for Muslim women in Congress. House Democratic leadership should be ashamed of its relentless, exclusive tone policing of Congresswomen of color,” posted Tlaib on Twitter.
Tlaib’s comments come after Rep. Omar had to issue a “clarification” over comments she made comparing the US to Hamas.
The rhetoric sparked a fierce rebuke from both Republicans and Democrats.
