After buying a 9.2% stake in Twitter this week —73.5 million shares— Elon Musk has been appointed to the board. Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal made the announcement Tuesday morning.
“I’m excited to share that we’re appointing @elonmusk to our board! Through conversations with Elon in recent weeks, it became clear to us that he would bring great value to our Board.”
“He’s both a passionate believer and intense critic of the service which is exactly what we need on @Twitter, and in the boardroom, to make us stronger in the long-term. Welcome Elon!”
Musk replied to Agrawal, saying “Looking forward to working with Parag & Twitter board to make significant improvements to Twitter in coming months!”
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO billionaire is looking to shake things up, posting Twitter polls and asking users what kind of change they want to see. Before his big purchase, Musk criticized Twitter for censorship.
