Twenty three people have been charged with domestic terrorism after the site of a proposed police training facility in Atlanta–dubbed by opponents as “cop city” was attacked on Sunday.
Video of the attack shows perpetrators set a number of fires, including a one that consumed a construction tractor on fire, before law enforcement arrived to take control of the scene.

According to reports, the incident was pre-planned, after far-left groups called for a weeklong “mass mobilization” and a “National Day of Action Against Police Terror” at the site, which is soon to host the 85-acre law enforcement facility.
“They changed into black clothing, entered the construction area, and began throwing large rocks, bricks, Molotov cocktails and fireworks at police officers,” police said of the perpetrators.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, only two of those arrested were from Georgia, while the rest were from other areas, including one suspect from France and another from Canada.
“This is not a protest, this is criminal activity,” Atlanta Chief of Police Darin Schierbaum told reporters. “When you throw commercial-grade fireworks or you throw Molotov cocktails, large rocks, number of items at officers, you’re only intended to harm.”
In January fatally shot another far-left radical at the construction site after a Georgia State Trooper was injured.
