By The FirstUN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressing the anti-human sentiment so common amongst the global elites on Tuesday, calling humanity “a weapon of mass extinction.”
“With our bottomless appetite for unchecked and unequal economic growth, humanity has become a weapon of mass extinction,” Guterres said in a speech kicking off the UN’s “COP15 Biodiversity Summit” in Montreal. “We are treating nature like a toilet. And ultimately, we are committing suicide by proxy, because the loss of nature and biodiversity comes with a steep human cost. A cost we measure in lost jobs, hunger, disease and deaths.”
Secretary-General Guterres also slammed multinational corporations for turning the world’s ecosystems into “playthings of profit.”
Guterres was apparently so proud of his low opinion of humanity that he also tweeted the sentiment to his followers:
Guterres didn’t offer any specific solutions as to how to solve our “bottomless appetite for unchecked and unequal economic growth,” but we can safely assume he does not believe more humans and more economic growth will solve the problem.
