Senator Elizabeth Warren escalated her demands that US taxpayers pick-up the tab for student loans this week, saying the President should cancel debt for people who attended college but failed to graduate.
“Nearly 40% of people with student debt don’t have a degree. These borrowers tried, but life happened and now they’re stuck paying huge bills with high school wages. @POTUS should #CancelStudentDebt to give millions a fair shot at boosting their economic futures,” posted Warren on Twitter.
Warren faced a backlash even from her liberal followers.
“Reward failure?” wrote one user.
“What about those who saved and paid off their debt?” asked another.
