Jen Psaki’s time as White House press secretary has come to an end.
“Jen Psaki has set the standard for returning decency, respect and decorum to the White House Briefing Room,” Biden said in a statement prior to her departure.
“I want to say thank you to Jen for raising the bar, communicating directly and truthfully to the American people, and keeping her sense of humor while doing so,” he added. “I thank Jen her service to the country, and wish her the very best as she moves forward.”
Psaki got emotional while saying her final goodbyes.
“I want to thank all of you in this room. You have challenged me, you have pushed me, you have debated me and at times we have disagreed. That is democracy in action. That is it working. Without accountability, without debate, government is not as strong,” Psaki said on her final day at the podium.
