A recent YouGov survey has revealed that Bud Light has fallen to 14th place among popular beer choices. Once a go-to beverage for many beer enthusiasts, Bud Light now finds itself lagging behind competitors such as Pabst Blue Ribbon, Miller Genuine Draft, and Miller Lite.
According to the survey, the top five most-liked beers in the US are Guinness, Heineken, Corona, Samuel Adams, and Blue Moon.
The decline in Bud Light’s popularity coincides with a series of unfortunate events for the brew. Following a controversial partnership with trans activist Dylan Mulvaney, the beer company faced a significant backlash, leading to a shift in consumer attitudes. It appears that the ill-fated collaboration left a bitter aftertaste among its once-loyal customer base.
The repercussions of this decline are evident in the sales figures. Data from NielsenIQ and Bump Williams Consulting reveals that Bud Light sales plummeted by 27.9% in the week ending June 24. While this is a slight improvement from the previous week’s drop of 28.5%, it still indicates a worrying trend for the once-reigning beer brand.
As Bud Light struggles to regain its former glory, it faces an uphill battle to reclaim its position among beer aficionados. Only time will tell if the company can brew up a strategy to overcome these setbacks and once again bubble to the top of the beer hierarchy.
