The Investigation into the identity of the person who leaked the Dobbs decision last year has failed to identify the culprit according to a statement from the high court.
The investigation was carried out by the Marshal of the Supreme Court and her staff.
The statement reads:
After months of diligent analysis of forensic evidence and interviews of almost 100 employees, the Marsha;’s team determiined that no further investigation was warranted with respect to many of the “82 employees [who] had access to electronic or hard copies of the draft opinion.”

In following up on all available leads, however, the Marshal’s team performed additional forensic analysis and conducted multiple follow-up interviews of certain employees. But the team has to date been unable to identify the person responsible by a preponderance of the evidence.
The leak became public on May 2 when Politico published a draft opinion reversing the reversing 1973 Roe v. Wade. It is considered by many to be the worst breach of confidentiality in the court’s history.
