By The FirstMike Slater, host of the Politics by Faith podcast, weighed-in this week on a tough topic for Christians across America; explaining why his family has decided that Santa Claus has no place in their home during Christmas.
“I lament that Jesus has been replaced by Santa,” began Slater. “Everyone gets very defensive when I talk about this. You’re not a bad person if you do the whole Santa thing… Everyone needs to lower their weapons!”
“There is no Santa Claus in the Slater home… People ask me why I have a problem with kids having some magic in their childhood. First, telling kids that Santa Claus exists sets up kids to deconstruct their faith and reject God later in life. They will think that Santa and the Easter Bunny and God are all things that you grow out of,” he added.
