By The FirstAttorney General Merrick Garland has made an unprecedented move by appointing David Weiss, the federal prosecutor responsible for charging President Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, as a special counsel.
Garland’s announcement elevates Weiss’s role, granting him more extensive powers than he possessed as a standard US attorney. The decision allows Weiss to investigate with greater independence and increased jurisdiction.
