President Joe Biden announced a phone app to make it easier for migrants to to apply for asylum of they’re planning on making the trek to the U.S. border. Biden made the announcement on Thursday during remarks on border security and enforcement.

“If they’re seeking asylum, they can use an app on their cell phone called CBP One,” Biden said. “To schedule an appointment at a port of entry and make their asylum claim there without crossing the border unlawfully and have a decision determined by an asylum officer, do they qualify.”
“This new process is orderly, it’s safe, and it’s humane,” Biden added. “And it works.”
There were 233,740 migrants apprehended along the U.S. southern border in November, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, breaking apprehensions and marked the highest ever number of border crossings ever recorded for the month of November.
