By The FirstNikole Hannah-Jones -founder of the 1619 Project and prominent CRT activist- botched the entire history of the American Civil War on social media this week, claiming the North “reluctantly drawn” into battle in 1865.
“We did not stop the expansion of slavery, and enslavers dominated the presidency, Senate, and Supreme Court until 1865, when the North was reluctantly drawn into a war that ultimately ended slavery,” claimed Jones.
“The author of the 1619 Project—revisionist & racist false history that is being used as curriculum in schools across the country—doesn’t know when the Civil War started. (It was 1861.),” fired-back Sen. Ted Cruz on Twitter.
